南非：擴(kuò)大水泥產(chǎn)能一百萬噸

　　比勒陀利亞硅酸鹽水泥公司發(fā)言人說，董事會(huì)已經(jīng)批準(zhǔn)了這項(xiàng)針對(duì)南非內(nèi)地水泥市場(chǎng)的項(xiàng)目。據(jù)中國(guó)水泥網(wǎng)了解，該工程第一階段計(jì)劃到明年九月底結(jié)束，第一階段將投資六百萬蘭特。這個(gè)工程還牽涉到一些現(xiàn)有設(shè)施的更新。另外這個(gè)投資經(jīng)費(fèi)還不包括建筑過程中的通貨膨脹，項(xiàng)目管理等費(fèi)用。這些開銷將一直用到2008年。

　　PPC公司CEO說，最近幾年南非的固定資產(chǎn)投資上升，GDP值也上升，這時(shí)做一些必要的工作對(duì)于經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展是很有促進(jìn)作用的。

　　從2000年以來，通過很好運(yùn)用全球競(jìng)爭(zhēng)計(jì)劃及利用自身現(xiàn)有能力，PPC公司已經(jīng)發(fā)展到一定水平，這也是公司決定增加水泥投資的一個(gè)重要原因。

Pretoria Portland Cement Co Ltd (PPC), one of South Africa's largest cement producers, plans to begin a 1 million ton per annum four-year capacity expansion project valued at an estimated R750 million, due to the combination of rising recent and future expected cement demand growth and the planned retirement of older PPC production lines. 

PPC said its board had approved the expansion project for the inland region of South Africa, with the first phase of planning set to begin during the financial year to end-September 2005. 

This phase would involve capital spending of R6 million, including the scoping of the project and the updating of equipment prices to ascertain the total project cost. 

The project would most likely be a "brownfields" project - involving an expansion of an existing facility - with an estimated present-day value of R750 million, the company said. 

However, this amount excluded inflation, project management and commissioning costs and finance during construction. 

The expansion project and its cash flow would most likely span the 2006, 2007 and 2008 financial years. 

Commenting on the announcement, PPC CEO John Gomersall said: "The recent rise in fixed investment in the South African economy, together with our government's commitment to raising the future level of fixed investment to 25% of GDP, is very encouraging and essential for the higher economic growth that the country requires to create much needed jobs. 

"Since 2000, through our global competitiveness programme and better utilization of existing capacity, we have been able to improve returns to acceptable levels. This was an important factor in this decision given the capital intensity and demand volatility of the industry, " Gomersall said.
